Teaching Assistants

Written for both those in training and experienced. This revised, comprehensive, practical, easy-to-use handbook covers the everyday duties and expectations of the modern TA. It has been completely updated and rewritten to take advantage of improved national guidance, and of the new National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) at levels 2 and 3, that are based on validating real skills and experience.

The author has twenty years experience of training assistants to a high standard in the context of their normal work in school. Edu-Fax gives you the means to do this in your school, and at the same time to have a senior member of your staff qualify as an NVQ assessor, so that they can train other staff and extend the service to other local schools.

Edu-Fax has developed its own pathway for assessors through a partnership with Su Shaw, an experienced NVQ trainer and assessor. Su will co-operate with the author on school-based training, and will visit schools to validate assessments against the criteria of awarding bodies.
